Neko Atsume Kitty Collector is a charming, delightful, mesmerizing, engrossing, totally addictive game from Japan where the main characters, actually the only characters, are cats. The cutest, roundest cuddliest kitties you can imagine. In the game you put food out for cats and they come to visit, and you collect them and encourage them to visit by adding more food and toys. As you progress through the game and you place more food you attract more and more cats. At present there are 49 cats. Your collection is built by photographing the cats and placing their pictures in an album. As you progress you can remodel your garden, house and purchase items. It is simple, gentle and ridiculously fun.

Free as a download the game was created by Yutaka Takasaki who wanted a game that children with limited skills and adults could play. No violence or aggression Neko Atsume draws you in with charmingly engaging kitties and a somewhat hypnotic background soundtrack that is calming and stimulating at the same time. To date the game has been downloaded 10 million times and has a designated Reddit board, a Neko Atsume wiki and various other places around the web for discussion and access to cheat sheets. Players hunt for particular cats, ask for help and express frustration about the lack of visits of cats that are special. The game can be dowloaded from Apple and Google Play.
