IKEA has launched its first pet line. And yes! they have included cats, catering to the feline family very well.
IKEA, the darling of millennials and those seeking sleek, Scandinavian decor that is reasonably priced, and available across the globe, has finally realized that pets are part of the family and they could incorporate their needs into the IKEA style range. Honestly most pet stuff is kitsch, sometimes downright ugly. Why should the design and style for pets often be an afterthought to your home style. In typical IKEA fashion they have thought the line through, designed functional and stylish pieces that integrates fully with their existing products, has a budget friendly price range and – most importantly – takes into consideration what our fluffy felines really like. Called LURVIG (which literally means shaggy in Swedish) the range is a well designed line that encompasses beds, hiding places, toys, feeding items and litter boxes among other things. Finally, a sleek modern litter tray! The range is very comprehensive and if you have a kitten you can get everything, except food and litter. Literally a one stop shop.

The LURVIG line includes several Cat Houses that have incredible versatility (as does everything else in IKEA!!) and is designed to be used with the Kalix shelving system (or the old Expedit – virtually the same unit) so Fluffy can choose to sleep down or up, depending where you place the house. The Cat House with legs is designed to either be on the floor – and double as a side table, hang from the wall, or be placed in the Kalix unit. Depending on your space you have several options how to use it.
