In the swirl of headlines that bombard us daily with bad news, worse news and depressing news (peppered with outbreaks of gossip) it is always good to find some cats in the news. They have a way of making the day so much brighter, lifting the spirits and easing everything. Finding a good story is like have a little break from the world, so it is great to find the following 2 stories.
The BBC News has reported the story about Brigit, a Tonkinese cat from New Zealand who it seems has developed a laundry fixation.
Sneaking off and raiding neighbors laundry lines she has amassed a considerable amount of underwear! Doing a little research it appears that Brigit isn’t the only cat that gets up to this. A Google search turns up about 430,000 results on the topic. It seems that the hunting instinct in cats is very strong.
And they like clean laundry.
Buzzfeed has a much less frivolous story about Barney, a cemetery cat in Guernsey in the United Kingdom who has recently died.
Barney was a much loved resident of the cemetary who took up residence there after his family moved, despite their repeated attempts to remove hims. Barney was known to offer comfort and companionship to mourners and cemetery visitors. A much loved character he stole his way into many peoples hearts. A feel good story this lovely piece about him has some really touching images.
